  • Cape Coral was the first city I lived in when I moved to Florida back in ‘05 and I hated it. Ha!
I was so homesick for the NE and the Cape was like moving to another planet, including the people I encountered.
If you’re a female and breathing then prepare to be aggressively hit on by men everywhere you go.
At least that was the experience of my sisters and I, who never seen anything like it before, and I may never see it again (hopefully).
I dated a local who was a totally dysfunctional and abusive person and my sister is currently with a local of the same personality type. I know there are people like that everywhere, but what are the odds that you meet more than your share in one place?
My two younger sisters attended the high schools and the culture shock was…a shock. Going from a sleepy small town with values to whatever the Cape is makes you need some therapy afterward.
One sister who had attended that high school moved back up north and said she will never move back to Cape Coral. It basically ruined the whole state for her.
The only redeeming quality in that area was Sanibel and Captiva Island.
Once I moved to Orlando some years later I started to actually enjoy living in Florida.
I have one sister still living in the Cape and the last time I and my family visited we stayed in Naples 😆

  • I enjoy watching your videos. It gives me lots of tips for whenever I get a chance to vacation in Florida. Unfortunately I’m a long ways away in Maine. I would love to have the freedom and knowledge to do what your doing by making videos and enjoying life I. A warmer climate. Are you looking for an apprentice 😂🤣

  • Now that Jimmy Buffet is putting his new resort on FMB, all of the charm will be lost as they tore down a lot of the fun old places to make way for his place.

  • SW Florida is a gem. Absolutely breathtaking. One of my favorite places in the world.

  • LOVE your informative videos & we have used them as guides for some of our adventures. Keep up the great work!!

  • I'm looking for areas in TX and FL to build tiny home communities, and I think I just found my area!

  • Looks like a bunch of retirees Wisconsin Ohio few New York and Canada driving around alone in their car with a mask on. I think the state of Florida is in trouble

  • Caloosahatchee River. Translation… Caloosa river river. LOL
Just stay away from the Lani Kai. It's a popular spot for the spring breakers, but the place is a dive. A friend's boyfriend dies from a drug overdose there and wasn't found until the next morning. Needles have been found in the sand and a kid found a pistol on a bench. You'll get Hepatitis just walking through the door.
However, the water's nice when we don't have red tide or blue-green algae from the fertilizer being dumped into the river and the releases from Lake O.

  • I wish I saw this video before we visited Cape Coral and Fort Myers, so much more to see! Great presentation and hello to the folks at the Nauti Parrot 🦜. ⛱️🏝️🏖️ 😎

  • Thomas Edison once said " there's only one Ft Myers, and 90,000,000 people are gonna find out". Well, I think he was right. I'm a 41 year resident, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

  • My grandfather bought a house in 78 across from Estero Island Beach Club, right on Bayview Drive. Been coming ever since even though we don't own property anymore. Back in the 80s, there was a guy, John Holgerson, he'd take us out on his catamaran. I lost touch and was great friends with his daughter, Kristie. His wife, Diana had an ice cream shop at FMB, called Strawberry Corner. Ahh, the memories. Pure paradise! My home away from home. Thank you, great video!

  • you do not want to move here, poisonous snakes, scorpions, black widow spiders, sharks, roaches as big as fingers, huge rats.not to mention the heat and humidity are terrible .please do yourself a favor and stay away

  • Sanibel stoop has provided me with a vast collection of shells 🐚
One of my favorite Florida beaches. Next to Siesta Key 🔑 of course.

  • I've lived in this area since 1961. It has gone from great to horrible. The traffic sucks, people are rude and infrastructure is 20 years behind.
If I were you I'd think twice before vacationing here and 3 times before moving here. Just sayin'.

  • Another amazing video. Been to many of the places that you point out. Also like Pinchers to eat at in ft meyer and punta gorda fishermen wharf. The Ford /Edison states are excellent. 🏖😊😎

  • Water in the natural has nothing to do with rebirth. It's the living water that regenerates.

  • Which towns are better, Cape Coral or Sarasota? Mostly the same, or are there key differences? For a young family. Thanks everyone!

  • Bowmans Beach Park and Three Oaks park are the only ones mentioned as dog friendly. Any other places near the beach where we can bring furry friends?

  • I was born here in cape coral an here i am almost 40yrs later still here becasue I absolutely love it here

  • Moved to south Fort Myers in 2004 after been born and raised in Rhode Island for 33 years, love where I grew up but wouldn’t move back…it’s great here..

  • My town I’m from New York owning a vacation home there for the last 22yrs I haven’t regret anything I enjoyed my city am happy that I build my house in Cape Coral is like it small island w everything you can ask , so am very blessed to be in here every summer !! 😜

  • We love Florida & are coming to Cape Coral next month with our family for some great beach & pool time! Can anyone tell me how much it rains in July?

  • Thank you for promoting SWF and most of all our great country, the good ol' USA
    🍺😎👍
