The Ultimate Guide to Jacksonville Coffee Shops
Enjoy some local brews at these places
For some (most) coffee is a part of life. It’s a habit many of us indulge in every morning before we had to work. The coffee plant was discovered in Ethiopia in the 11th Century. The plant was called the “magical fruit” and the leaves were boiled down and believed to have had medicinal purposes. Coffee didn’t reach North America until the mid 1600s. The first American coffeehouse was in New York and opened its doors, “The King’s Arms”, in 1696. By the mid 19th century coffee was one of the most traded goods in the world.
In recent times the craft coffee scene has exploded in Jacksonville. Our mission at Jax Brews is to highlight each coffee shop and what makes them unique from others.
